Aethera Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 5, 2026

Aethera, operated by Ossirus LLC (“we,” “our,” “us”), values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information depending on how you interact with our Services:

A. Information You Provide

Account Information: Name (only if your sign-in provider shares it) and email address when you create an account through Apple Sign In or Google Sign In. We do not ask for or store passwords. Both Apple and Google let you hide or proxy your real email address.

Contact Information: Messages sent through forms, email, or customer support.

User-Generated Content: The words you type or speak when you describe how you’re feeling, the Moments you complete, any Conversations you have inside Aethera, and any feedback you submit.

Audio Data: Voice recordings captured during the intake experience. Audio is uploaded to our servers, transcribed to text by OpenAI’s Whisper service, and discarded after transcription. The transcribed text is then processed by Anthropic’s Claude AI to determine which Moment best matches your current state. Neither Anthropic nor OpenAI receives your name, email, or any account identifier — only the content you submit.

Payment Information (subscription users only): Apple and Google handle all billing for in-app subscriptions. We see a summary (whether you’re subscribed and which plan); we never see your card or full transaction details.

SMS Consent Data: If you sign up for our marketing text messaging program (handled outside the app, typically via our website or signup forms), we collect your mobile phone number and keep a record of your opt-in or opt-out status. By opting in, you agree to receive recurring marketing text messages from Aethera (up to 6 messages per month). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, or HELP for assistance. Consent to receive marketing texts is not a condition of any purchase.

B. Information Collected Automatically

When you use our website or mobile app, we may automatically collect:

Device and Technical Data: IP address, device identifiers, operating system, browser type, and app version.

Usage Data: Pages viewed, actions performed, session duration, crash logs, performance analytics, and anonymous events about how the app is used (for example: which Moment was selected, how long you stayed, whether a video failed to load). Usage data is not tied to your name or to the content of what you shared.

Cookies and Similar Technologies: Used on our website for analytics, preferences, and authentication.

C. Information from Third Parties

We may receive limited data from:

Analytics Services (Google Analytics, Firebase) to understand usage patterns.

Authentication Providers (Apple Sign In, Google Sign In) when you choose to log in using those services.

Attribution Partners (AppsFlyer) to understand which marketing channels brought new users to the app.

Subscription Provider (RevenueCat) to manage your subscription entitlements across platforms.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Operate, maintain, and improve our website and app functionality.

Personalize the experience based on what you describe — your words are processed by Anthropic’s Claude AI so the app can match the right Moment to your current state.

Transcribe voice input — your audio is processed by OpenAI’s Whisper service. The audio file is discarded after transcription.

Stream video content — playback is delivered through Mux’s content network.

Send transactional messages, updates, or notifications about your account.

Send marketing text messages if you have opted in to our SMS program.

Analyze trends and improve user experience.

Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

Communicate about Aethera products, features, or community events (with consent).

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share limited information only with:

Service Providers who assist with hosting and infrastructure (Firebase / Google Cloud), analytics (Firebase, Google Analytics), AI processing (Anthropic, OpenAI), video delivery (Mux), subscription management (RevenueCat), and marketing attribution (AppsFlyer) — all under confidentiality agreements.

Legal or Regulatory Authorities when required by law or to protect our rights.

Affiliated Entities if Aethera is involved in a merger, acquisition, or reorganization, consistent with privacy protections.

We never share SMS opt-in or opt-out information with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain data for as long as your account is active. Conversation history and Moments history are kept as part of the experience — Aethera is designed to remember what you share so the practice can build over time. If you delete your account, the personal data tied to that account is removed from our systems. You can also export your data at any time. Anonymous usage data may be retained longer in aggregated form for product analytics.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your region, you may have the right to:

Access, correct, or delete your personal information.

Opt out of marketing communications.

Withdraw consent for data collection features such as analytics.

Request a copy of your data.

To exercise any of these rights — including account deletion or a data export — email us at hello@aethera.love.

If you live in California, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act including the right to know what we collect, to delete it, and to opt out of any “sale” of your information. Aethera does not sell your information; there is nothing to opt out of.

If you live in the EU, UK, or any country with GDPR-equivalent protections, parallel rights apply through the same mechanisms.

6. Data Protection and Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption, secure data transmission (TLS), and restricted access controls to protect your data. No system is completely secure, but we continuously improve our measures to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not intended for individuals under 13 (or the minimum age required by local law). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child, we will delete it promptly.

8. International Data Transfers

Aethera is based in the United States. By using our Services, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other jurisdictions with potentially different data protection laws.

9. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on our website and within the app with a revised “Effective Date.” Continued use of our Services indicates your acceptance of those changes.

10. Contact Us

Aethera Terms of Service

Effective Date: May 5, 2026

This is what you and Aethera agree to when you use the app.

Using Aethera

You can use Aethera if you’re 13 or older. You agree to use it as intended (for your own emotional support and reflection) and not to harass or harm others through it.

Aethera is not a substitute for professional mental health care. If you’re in crisis, contact emergency services in your country (988 in the US, 116 123 in the UK, the local equivalent elsewhere) or a licensed clinician. Aethera is here to support a daily practice, not to treat clinical conditions.

You agree not to: copy, reverse engineer, redistribute, or commercialize Aethera or its content. The Moments are made by artists; the experiences are made by Aethera; both are protected.

Your Account

If you create an account, you’re responsible for it. Don’t share your sign-in. If you lose access to the email or sign-in provider, write to hello@aethera.love and we’ll help.

We may suspend an account if it’s used to abuse other people, violate the law, or interfere with the app’s operation. We try to give notice when we can.

Paid Features

Aethera is free to try. After a small number of free Moments, full access requires a subscription. Current pricing and plan options are shown in the app at the point of subscribing. Apple or Google handles billing depending on your platform.

Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel them through Apple’s or Google’s subscription manager. To cancel: Settings → Account → Manage subscription. Aethera doesn’t cancel for you because we don’t have your billing details; the platform does.

If your payment fails, Apple or Google will retry for a grace period (typically 16 days for Apple). After that, your subscription expires and you’ll be invited to subscribe again the next time you open the app.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google per their policies, not by Aethera. If something is broken on our end and you want a refund, write to hello@aethera.love and we’ll do what we can.

Content

Things you share with Aethera (intake messages, Conversations) belong to you. We have a license to process them so the app can do its job — that’s it. We don’t republish your words, sell them, or use them in marketing.

Things Aethera generates (Moment selections, Conversation responses) are part of the service. You can experience them, screenshot them, and share them, but you can’t sell them or build a product on top of them.

Disclaimers

Aethera is provided “as is.” We do our best, but we can’t guarantee it’ll be available all the time, work perfectly on every device, or produce a specific outcome for any specific person. We’re not liable for damages beyond what you paid us in the previous 12 months, and we’re not liable for indirect or consequential damages. (Some places don’t allow this kind of limitation; if so, the local law wins.)

Changes

If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and let you know the next time you open the app. If you don’t agree with the changes, you can stop using Aethera and your account will work as before for the remainder of any active subscription.
